Current Information:East Dulwich Born-Camberwell Carnoy Military Cemetery, France Between 14th April and 20th April, 1916 and then again between 27th April and 3rd May, 1916, 11th Royal Fusiliers of 54 Brigade, 18th Division were in the front line trenches near Carnoy on the Somme. The battalion diary provides no information concerning the events of 29th April when Richard Chawcroft was killed, but it was likely to have been as a result of shell fire. |
